How to prepare car for priming/painting???

Postby KNIGHTR » Tue Jul 13, 2010 10:07 pm

Hi guys.

Looking to at least rub down the car myself and possible priming and prepping before the black goes on. (Which i will get someone else to do)

Question. How do I start.
ie. The rubbing down procedure for when to bog, what grit paper is best used when, coats of primer, type of primer, final sanding.......
etc etc.

Can anyone point me to any good sites or good youtube vids explaining this... Or can you explain from your own experience.

I want to get as much technical and technique info as possible then i will make up my own mind.....

Many Thanks.....

I came across this forum which deals with restoration of cars, including paint.

I am also planning to paint my car so I have been searching for similar information.
